Gary Martin is most widely known in the equine world for his long time involvement in the cutting horse industry. A successful Non Pro cutter since 1985 Gary began producing and managing events in 1987. Many of these events involved the management of over 600 horses at a single location. In addition to his involvement with Cutting Gary has owned and operated a large cattle ranch in Northeast Oregon where he and his wife Patty raised and trained cutting bred Quarter horses.

In the summer of 2004 Gary sold the ranch in North Powder and moved to Juniper Ridge Ranch in Terrebonne, Oregon, where he opened Northwest Mare Services. With his extensive knowledge of caring for and breeding horses coupled with his skills as an organizer and manager Gary offers mare owners of all breeds an opportunity to have their mares bred and cared for in a manner unequaled in the Northwest.
